See you tonight!

Hey Everyone,
Just a reminder that tonight will be our first weekly Bible study. We will be taking a look at “Rain”, a video from the Nooma series by Rob Bell on the topic of pain. I hope you can all make it. If you have any questions or need directions to our apartment please email me or give me a call.

How Great is Our God?

This weekend Kelly and I will be setting out on our annual spelunking expedition. We will be traveling deep into the abyss of southern Indiana to battle it out with Shelob, Gollum, and the Balrog. To the right are some photos of one of the caves we will be exploring. All kidding aside it is amazing that even in the deepest darkest corners of the earth you can still find the fingerprints of God. These cave are places that are rarely if ever seen by human eyes and even so they are absolutely beautiful. What a creative and incredible God we serve! It reminds me of the words to a Chris Tomlin song that says God “put the stars in the sky and He knows them by name”. God never skips on the details, not only that but he is a personal God who is extremely interested in His creation. Every nook and cranny of his universe was created with great structure, care, design, and detail. I take great joy in knowing that that is the kind of God we serve.

I hope you are all having a great week, please pray for traveling mercies, as well as our safety this weekend while we are in the caves. Kelly and I look forward to seeing you all at the cookout next Tuesday. Take care and God Bless.

Your Brother In Christ,
Shane

Crossroads Kickoff!!!

Summer is coming to an end and that means Crossroads is coming to an…umm…beginning. We will be kicking things off Tuesday September 5th with a Cookout at Mat Pullen’s new home in Davenport. The festivities will start around 6:30 so be sure to get there early while the burgers are still sizzlin’. We will supply the meat and drinks and ask that everyone would bring chips, a salad, or some kind of dish to pass. It will be a great time to enjoy some good food and some great fellowship. I hope you can all make it, and don’t be afraid to bring a friend, and some games to play. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call or shoot me an email.

Matt’s address is:
1834 West 69th Street
Davenport, IA 52806

Study Topics?

Hey Everyone,
I'm getting really excited to get back in the swing of things as small groups start up again soon. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of what they would like to study once Crossroads kicks off here in the beginning of September. I have been looking online and at Family Christian Bookstore for some ideas. I found some good Bible studies on Romans, John, and some others books as well as some good studies focused on Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount”. If any of these sound interesting, or if you have any other suggestions please comment. Thanks, hope you are all having a great week, and hope to see everyone Friday for the Swing Game.
